On a day where Texas State football players are expected to report back to San Marcos today, the Bobcat coaching staff received a big gift unexpectedly as Brenham HS linebacker Jerrid Jeter-Gilman committed to Texas State.

Jeter-Gilman’s intelligence, work ethic and leadership are poised for him being a very big asset on the Bobcat defense.  He comes from a high school teams that does nothing but win. Since Jeter-Gilman joined the varsity team, Brenham has complied a 23-4 record over those two season.

This past season Jeter-Gilman recorded 65 tackles, one interception, three forced fumbles and helped the Cubs to a 10-1 record.

Jeter-Gilman (6-2, 210) chose the Bobcats over offers from Utah, Arizona State, Indiana, Minnesota and UTEP.

He is being recruited by Texas State to play linebacker and his lead recruiter was Bobcat defensive coordinator Craig Naivar.
