Texas State football camp roundup

Texas State held their final high school camp of the 2011 season as high school juniors and seniors throughout the state made their way to San Marcos.

The Texas State coaches work position drills

Over fifty players were in attendence at Bobcat Stadium and the players got to participate in multiple drills and hands on coaching tips from the entire Texas State coaching staff. The coaches were excited to get a chance to work with talent across the state and the camp attendees felt the same.

“I loved the camp it went well, I think Texas State is top on my list for colleges I wanna go to,” said Mesquite Horn wide receiver Courtland Charles.  “My favorite part were the one on one drills.

For some players, this was not their first trip to a Texas State camp.

“I’ve been to three Texas State one day camps, said Dallas Wilson quarterback Piers Christian. “The first two at Texas State I played quarterback and the last one I played wide receiver. All the camps went well. I received great feedback playing quarterback and wide receiver,” said Christian.

The camp allowed the Bobcat coaching staff to evaluate some new players and continue to get an upclose look at other talent first hand. Although no official offers were made, this was a good stage for players to show off their talents in hope to get a future look from the Texas State program.

The Bobcat coaching staff will now turn their focus to the 2011 football season and fall camp that starts in eleven days.
