Another QB offer is out

Cibolo Steele QB, Tommy Armstrong

Texas State is still searching for their quarterback of the future in the 2012 recruiting class. With only one offer out to a QB (Austin Westwood, Ben Johnson), the Bobcats have officially offered another who has been on their radar for quite some time.

Cibolo Steele quarterback, Tommy Armstrong (6-2, 190) had a very productive 2010 season. He led his team to 14-2 record and won the 5A Division II State Championship. Not bad for a school that has only played five seasons of football. This past season he threw for over 1,600 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing for over 850 yards and 8 rushing touchdowns. His leadership and playmaking abilities on the field have captured the attention of many college coaches.

On the recruiting side, Armstrong currently has four offers and two just became official this week. TCU was the first to offer, then Texas Tech followed suit, Southern Mississippi and Texas State have now entered the race.

Armstrong is not expected to make a commitment till later on during his senior season and expect a number of offers to come soon. Baylor, Lousiana Tech and Kansas State are also showing an interest in the dual threat QB.
